Medieval armor refers to armor that medieval knights used to wear during warfare. There were a few warrior essentials.

The most important necessity was definitely the sword that the warriors used to fight their enemies.

Secondly, an important necessity was armor. Every warrior used to wear it to protect his body against the swords. A sword could easily cut them into pieces.

To prevent the blades, they put on armor. Today, armor is no longer used for wars.

However, it is used as a cosplay weapon and as a warrior costume. There are different types of medieval armor, following are a few of them:

1. Body Armor

Body armor is the full size armor. This is the largest armor that warriors wore to protect their bodies. Since it is a full size armor, it covers the entire body.

The warriors who wanted to cover their whole bodies always wore it. It was the best way to protect against the swords. It was made of steel while those used today are made of metal.

2. Arm Armor

Arm armor, as the name suggests, is a smaller armor mainly used for protecting the arms.

At times, the medieval knights wore small armor just to make sure their arms are well-protected in combat. So, they wore this armor to ensure protection of their arms.

3. Chainmail Armor

Chainmail armor is a special type of armor made of chains. It includes connected together to form a lovely armor. It was often worn by the medieval warriors.

4. Leg Armor


The fourth medieval armor we have on our list is the leg armor. As the name tells you, this is the armor used for covering the legs. This ensured the protection of the warrior’s legs.

They often targeted the legs of their opponents in a battle. Hence, protection of legs was pretty essential. So, these are the types of medieval armor you can find in the modern world.
